How Much Can A Notary Signing Agent Charge?

Notary signing agents can charge pretty much anything they want as long as it is a legal and reasonable amount. Most agents that I know charge by the signature as they have set up their own business and can charge whatever they like. If you decide to charge by the signature, it would be best to set your pricing around $3 to $4 per signature.

If you were to charge $10 per signature, you would get higher volume, but it is no where near the amount that you would need to be earning for a franchise opportunity or for someone else managing your company. The potential for higher income is there, but no one going into the business of notary signing is doing it for the money.

Where Do Notary Signing Agents Work?

Generally, signers of documents are notary publics. However, there are other types of signers too. They include title agents, immigration officials, court clerks, bank officers, police officers and some government officials. The duties of notaries differ from state to state. Some states allow them to perform marriage ceremonies too. They are authorized to authenticate documents.

What Do Notary Signing Agents Make?

The average national salary for a Notary Signing Agent is $42,000.00 a year. These agents usually work for a title company and are assigned to a specific lender or group of lenders. Their job is to approve loan documents and collect required signatures on mortgages and deeds of trust. The work is generally done in the company office or on-site at the customer’s home. There will be some travel required to conduct signings in other areas.

What Is The Best Computer For Notary?

You want a desktop computer, not a laptop. You want a large, high resolution monitor that can display at least 14 to 16 inch, preferably 17-inch monitor. You want a fast computer, i.e. new 5th generation Intel i-5 3.2Ghz processor or newer, 4GB of RAM and 250GB of storage space.

Also, you want it to be running Windows 10 64-bit. Why not Windows 8? Windows 8 is great except that it may have problems reading older notary software, so most notaries choose Windows 10.
